Bassam is Chemistry’s Managing Director, consulting on Product & Service design innovation.
Joining Chemistry in 2002 as a small collective, he has grown the agency from a classic product and graphic design house, to today, a research based, experience design think tank. His work has spanned diverse industry sectors to help organisations like Dell, Singapore Tourism Board and GE Healthcare to solve complex challenges and deliver great end user experiences.
Prior to that he spent 5 years with Philips Design as a Design Account Manager working across domestic appliances, lighting and mobile communication business divisions.
His work is also featured at the Singapore Art Museum and his opinions and ideas have been covered on Channel News Asia, SC Global magazine and the Singapore Business Times newspaper.
Bassam was born in the UK and holds a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Product Design from Brunel University, UK. He is one of a select group of consultants appointed by Singapore’s government productivity agency, Spring Singapore, to deliver their programme on Design Thinking for business innovation.
Previously he held the role as an external examiner for Singapore Polytechnic’s Experience Design course, as well as a member on the Design Manpower Skills and Training council.
In his spare time, he likes to explore the freedom of fine art painting, applying creativity without a client brief!
