With experience spanning 20 years and 2 countries, Simon finds Singapore an exceedingly good environment for creative outlet. A British Born Chinese, his Asian roots also give Simon a deep appreciation of the people and cultures he works with in Asia. At the same time, 5 years branding in the UK add a nice European twist to his creative approach.
Aside from a design background that includes the retail identities for Hong Kong International Airport while based in London with Portland Design, and sitting at the helm of projects such as the rebranding of Singapore's Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum, he has also found time for continued professional involvement as an actor and TV host - a habit that began back in the UK in 1996 when he began a two year stint as a professional actor with theatres such as Wimbledon Broadway's Polka and London's Yellow Earth.
The perpetual balancing act between work and play often puts Simon on telly. Catch him on dodgy old CNA, OKTO and C5 re-runs like Red Thread with Adrian Pang and Celest Chong - and later this year, a telemovie set in the 1960's where he plays the boss of Singapore's TV station in a nostalgic love triangle set before Independance opposite Jaymee Ong and Eden Ang.
As a voice actor he has voiced for various brands including Philips, Bacardi, Maybank and VKool, and recently narrated Channel News Asia's Instant Noodles Dairy, a travel series exploring instant noodles recipes and history around Asia. He currently appears in 1950's colonial cop drama Mata Mata as Inspector Ang.
Simon's role at Chemistry centres on running branding projects for Singapore companies as well as MNC's and their products in the Asia Pacific region.
